Chad Gable Embraces Babyface Role, Revives Iconic American Alpha Entrance Music on WWE Raw

This development follows Gable's participation in the highly regarded mask vs mask match at WWE AAA Noche De Los Grandes. In that contest, Gable was unmasked as the Original El Grande Americano after suffering a defeat to Ludwig Kaiser, who was portraying a version of El Grande Americano. Following his unmasking, Gable began a public apology tour on WWE television, expressing remorse to luchadores such as Rey Fenix and Penta for his past mockery of lucha libre traditions.

While Fenix and Penta accepted Gable's apologies, Penta suggested that to truly demonstrate his sincerity and restore respect for luchadores, Gable should seek out Rey Mysterio. Gable seemingly heeded this advice, appearing on WWE Raw in Paris, France. There, he offered an apology to Mysterio, which was accepted. Mysterio noted that Gable's need for apology extended beyond his recent actions as Original El Grande Americano, encompassing earlier transgressions as well.

The events in Paris took a turn when Mysterio challenged Penta for the Intercontinental Championship. Penta successfully retained his title in the match. However, the post-match segment saw both Mysterio and Penta ambushed by Rusev and Ethan Page. Dragon Lee attempted to intervene and aid Mysterio and Penta but was also neutralized. Rusev then proceeded to tear at Rey Mysterio's mask.

Gable intervened, successfully driving off Page and Rusev.
