Liv Morgan Advances in Queen of the Ring Tournament on WWE Raw; Oba Femi and Seth Rollins Speak

On the latest episode of WWE Raw, Liv Morgan advanced in the Queen of the Ring tournament. The show also featured substantial promos from Oba Femi and Seth Rollins, along with an apology from Chad Gable and an Intercontinental Championship update from Ethan Page.

Oba Femi Addresses King of the Ring and Brock Lesnar

Announcers Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on hand to call the action as Oba Femi made his way to the ring. Femi addressed the crowd in Paris, stating his belief in spoilers over predictions. He declared it a spoiler that he would run through the King of the Ring tournament and continue his dominance through Night of Champions, ultimately taking his rightful position on the throne as King of the Ring.

“Oba says the people of Paris are awesome and he has business to get down to.”

“Him and Paul Heyman don't agree on many things, but they have one thing in common. They don't believe in predictions, he believes in spoilers.”

“it is a spoiler that he will run through everyone in King of the Ring and it will continue through Night of Champions and he will destroy him as well. He will take his rightful position on the throne as King of the Ring.”

Femi also spoke about his desire to collect trophies, specifically targeting Brock Lesnar, against whom he has a one-and-one record. Femi expressed frustration with Lesnar's perceived evasiveness, calling him a "big bad bitch" and vowing to settle the score when they next meet.

“your ruler needs a crown to be a ruler. He says this is the year to collect trophies but there is one trophy he has not collected yet. That is the head of Brock Lesnar.”

“They are one and one. He is not here. Brock sneaks in and he wins and disappears. Brock came in and cheated to win. Paul talks about a big bad Beast, but all he has seen is a big bad bitch. When he sees Brock, he will settle the score.”

Dominik Mysterio interrupted Oba Femi, asserting his own veteran status with 20 years of experience and calling himself the King of the Luchadores. Mysterio challenged Femi, stating that once he becomes King of the Ring, he will rule over him and urged Femi to "bend your knee and respect the stache." The confrontation escalated when JD McDonagh attacked Femi with a chair, but Femi retaliated, punching the chair into JD's face. Femi then overpowered Mysterio, throwing him across the ring before JD pulled Mysterio to safety. Femi concluded by telling Mysterio he would introduce him to his daddy next week.

Seth Rollins Reflects on His Future

Jackie Redmond interviewed Seth Rollins, who reflected on his past in Paris as World Champion and leader of The Vision. Rollins declared that the Vision is in the past, and his present focus is winning the King of the Ring. He also expressed his ambition to reclaim the title he never lost and stated he has a future date planned with Roman Reigns, whom he believes is holding onto a title that does not belong to him.

“time is a flat circle. The last time he was in Paris, he was the World Champion and the leader of the Vision. He says the Vision is in the past. The present is the King of the Ring, that he will win. The future is him taking back the title he never lost.”

“He says he has a date down the line with Roman Reigns. A man he used to call brother. A man who can't seem to win his titles on his own. A man who can't seem to beat Seth Rollins when it matters most. You are holding on to a title that does not belong to you. Seth says he made that title and it belongs to him.”

Queen of the Ring First Round Match

The first match of the evening was a Queen of the Ring First Round Match featuring Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, and Chelsea Green. During the contest, Alexa Bliss appeared to injure her knee. After a back and forth battle involving multiple near falls and submission attempts, Liv Morgan secured the victory by pinning Chelsea Green with a jackknife cover.

Lucha Libre Conversations and Apologies

Rey Mysterio and Penta El Zero Miedo discussed their shared passion for lucha libre. Mysterio spoke about representing lucha libre in WWE for a long time, and Penta acknowledged Mysterio as an inspiration. They both expressed that their upcoming match is an honor and an opportunity of a lifetime, with Penta describing their encounter as a piece of lucha libre history.

“he has represented lucha libre in WWE for a long time.”

“when you talk about lucha libre, you talk about Rey Mysterio. He inspired him.”

“never has he seen a member of the family rise as fast as Penta.”

Chad Gable approached Penta El Zero Miedo, apologizing for his past actions stemming from losing his debut match to Penta. Gable admitted he did not take the loss like a man but like a coward. Penta responded that he loves lucha libre and finds it hard to respect someone while saying they are wrong, and indicated there was someone else Gable needed to apologize to.

“I talked to Rey Fenix on Smackdown and he has done a lot of things he was ashamed of over the last few years. It started because he lost to Penta in his debut match. Chad says he did not take that loss like a man. He took it like a coward. Chad says he wants to look Penta in the eyes and he says he is sorry.”

Ethan Page Targets Intercontinental Championship

Byron Saxton spoke with Ethan Page, who expressed dissatisfaction with his current path. Page noted that in his two months on the brand, he has already wrestled for the Intercontinental Championship on a PLE and felt he had Penta El Zero Miedo beat in their previous encounter. Page believes there is favoritism on the brand thanks to Mr. Pearce and is seeking a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship, stating it is his target regardless of the current champion.

“if his path isn't what he wants it to be. He has been here for two months and he wrestled for the title on a PLE. He had Penta beat. Let's talk about Penta. How long did it take him to get these opportunities. There is favoritism on this brand thanks to Mr. Pearce.”

“Where is his rematch? Ethan says he is the smartest and the smartest gets what he wants. Page says he will get his rematch. He says it does not matter who wins because the title is his target.”

Montez Ford also appeared backstage, wishing Seth Rollins luck in the King of the Ring tournament. Rollins thanked Ford for his help and inquired about Angelo Dawkins.

WWE confirmed its return to Atlanta on September 6th for Sunday Night's Main Event.
