Last week, half of the first round four-way matches for both tournaments were completed. IYO SKY and Raquel Rodriguez advanced in the Queen of the Ring bracket and are set to face each other in the semi-finals. On the King of the Ring side, Oba Femi and Dominik Mysterio their respective four-way matches and will face each other next week.

The tournament continued with two additional first round four-way matches on WWE Raw today, marking significant progress in both brackets.

Queen of the Ring Developments

The other side of the Queen of the Ring bracket started today, beginning with a first round match that featured Alexa Bliss, Chelsea Green, Becky Lynch, and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.

It was Liv Morgan who picked up the win, essentially stealing the victory from Chelsea Green in the closing moments of the contest. With this win, Liv Morgan advances to the semi-finals.

Liv Morgan will face the winner of the last Queen of the Ring first round four-way match. That upcoming match is scheduled between Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca, Jade Cargill, Lyra Valkyria, and Charlotte Flair. This crucial Queen of the Ring four-way is set to take place on SmackDown this coming Friday.

King of the Ring Progress

On the men’s side of the tournament, the other half of the King of the Ring bracket also began today on Raw with a four-way match. This contest featured Talla Tonga, Seth Rollins, Je’Von Evans, and Ricky Saints.

The match took place in the main event of WWE Raw and was by Je’Von Evans. Evans secured the victory by pinning Ricky Saints after Seth Rollins looked like he was about to win before he was taken out by The Vision.

After his win, Je’Von Evans will now face the winner of another King of the Ring first round four-way match. That upcoming match is scheduled for this coming Friday’s SmackDown and will see Jey Uso, LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Balor compete.

Tournament Finals and Championship Implications

Both the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments are set to culminate in their respective finals at WWE Night of Champions. This premium live event is scheduled for June 27 and will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The stakes for these tournaments are exceptionally high. The eventual winners of both the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments will earn world championship matches. These highly anticipated championship opportunities will occur at WWE SummerSlam, which is slated to be held in Minneapolis at the start of August.
