Maxxine Dupri Details 'Transformative' WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship Feud with Becky Lynch
Maxxine Dupri revealed her WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship feud with Becky Lynch 'changed everything' for her career and personal development, profoundly elevating her status.
Maxxine Dupri has revealed the profound impact her heated feud with Becky Lynch had on her career within WWE, describing the rivalry as a transformative turning point that fundamentally altered her trajectory and self-belief.
The rivalry, which unfolded late last year into early 2026, was primarily centered around the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship. Dupri experienced a significant run as champion before Becky Lynch ultimately ended her reign with the title on an episode of RAW early this year.
During an interview with Denise Salcedo, Dupri looked back at the rivalry, emphasizing its role in elevating her as a star in WWE.
I did not see that in my future last year, as it was happening.
Dupri admitted, adding that she was originally just excited to be able to work with Lynch and was hoping to simply learn from her.
It was the greatest experience of my life sharing the ring with her, and I learned more than I could ever repay her for... I think [the feud] changed everything.
Dupri further stated that her feud against Lynch also changed how she views herself both as a wrestler and as an individual. She now feels far more capable as a professional wrestler than she did before the rivalry with Lynch.
That whole journey truly took my career from over here, and elevated me.
She expressed surprise at the continuation of opportunities that arose from the feud, particularly the sustained nature of her involvement with Lynch beyond an initial encounter.
After that first match, I was not expecting a second one, a third one, a fourth one; so, I couldn't believe the opportunities I was being blessed with.
Championship Victory at Madison Square Garden
A significant highlight of Dupri's experience was her victory to capture the Women's Intercontinental Championship at Madison Square Garden in 2025.
Nothing will ever beat that day.
Dupri gushed, calling it the greatest day of her life.
It was the greatest day of my life.
Subsequent Title Changes Involving Becky Lynch
After dethroning Maxxine Dupri for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship, Becky Lynch was eventually beaten by AJ Lee. More recently, Sol Ruca also defeated Becky Lynch.
