WWE Money in the Bank 2026 Date Shifted to October 10 in New Orleans
WWE Money in the Bank 2026 has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. This marks the third date adjustment for the premium live event.
This latest announcement marks the third confirmed date for the highly anticipated show. Originally, WWE Money in the Bank 2026 was announced for August 29 in New Orleans. An announcement made last October then shifted the event's date to September 6. Now, the event will take place more than a month later than the September booking, pushing it into mid October.
The Smoothie King Center in New Orleans remains the confirmed venue for the event, where WWE’s biggest Superstars will battle to earn a briefcase containing a contract for a championship match. This contract allows the winner to challenge for a championship at a time and place of their choosing, valid for up to one year.
Official Confirmation and Event Stakes
The latest date change was officially confirmed by WWE in a press release dated June 8, 2026. The statement provided specific details regarding the new schedule and location:
June 8, 2026. WWE, in conjunction with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and Legends Global, today announced that Money in the Bank will now take place Saturday, October 10, one month later than originally announced, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
Money in the Bank features WWE’s biggest Superstars as they battle to earn a briefcase containing a contract for a championship match at a time and place of their choosing anytime within the next year.
Money in the Bank is, at the time of writing, the last announced Premium Live Event on WWE’s calendar for 2026. Prior to this, WWE SummerSlam is set to take place on August 1 and 2 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
New Orleans and WrestleMania 42: A History of Shifts
New Orleans was initially announced as the host for WrestleMania 42. However, those plans changed, and Las Vegas will now run the two-night WWE Premium Live Event again at Allegiant Stadium. TKO President Mark Shapiro has suggested that the decision to run WrestleMania back-to-back at Allegiant Stadium was something of a mistake.
It cannot have been welcome news for city officials that WrestleMania, and all that entails, was no longer going to be taking place in New Orleans. This is particularly considering a past report noting that the 2018 WrestleMania event, which ran for only one night, netted the New Orleans region an estimated $175 million.
Now, to find that a WWE Premium Live Event has had its date changed more than once, moving from August, into September, and now October, might raise even more eyebrows. It would be a surprise if plans were not in place to capitalize on the event from the moment a host city is officially confirmed. It does not make business sense for any of the major logistical preparations, such as managing the influx of visitors and local accommodations, to be left to the last minute. Consequently, any existing plans by New Orleans to capitalize on WWE Money in the Bank will likely need to be revised for a third time to accommodate the latest schedule.
