According to Eversource, the utility company, the outages affected more than 4,000 customers in Greenwich and an additional 2,700 in Stamford around 6 p.m. on Sunday. Power was fully restored to all affected customers by Monday morning. In Stamford, approximately 5,000 customers experienced an immediate loss of power, though Eversource managed to restore electricity to about 3,000 of those individuals within 20 minutes of the initial disruption.

The large flag was torn from the roof of the WWE headquarters building at 8:44 p.m. on Saturday. It subsequently lodged itself on high-voltage wires situated adjacent to the Metro North train tracks. The location was near the intersection of Atlantic and Manhattan streets in Stamford, close to the Stamford Train Station.

Stamford Deputy Fire Chief Matt Palmer confirmed the incident. He stated that the fire department's role was primarily to monitor the situation and communicate with the power companies regarding the downed lines and the burning flag. Due to the location and the involvement of high-voltage wires, there was limited immediate action the fire department could take.

WWE opened its current headquarters, located at 707 Washington Blvd, in 2023. The building is a significant structure, standing 13 stories tall and encompassing 400,000 square feet.
