Axiom and Nathan Frazer Victorious on NXT; Naraku Secures Number One Contender Spot

Axiom and Nathan Frazer defeated Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar in tag team action on NXT. Naraku secured a number one contender position against Mason Rook. The episode also featured the first part of the Mr. NXT Pageant and segments setting up a new Speed Tournament and a title match for The Great American Bash.

WWE NXT featured Booker T and Vic Joseph on commentary for the night. The broadcast opened with a video package promoting the upcoming Great American Bash event.

Axiom and Nathan Frazer vs. Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar

\n

Match Number One saw Axiom and Nathan Frazer face Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar. Noam Dar started the match with Axiom. Axiom performed a springboard arm drag and a drop kick on Noam Dar. Romeo Moreno tagged in, and Nathan Frazer hesitated to tag in. Romeo Moreno executed a sunset flip for a near fall on Nathan Frazer. Noam Dar applied a sleeper hold, but Nathan Frazer countered with a snap mare and a chop.

Nathan Frazer missed a cross body in the corner when Noam Dar dropped down. Noam Dar then delivered kicks to the chest and a jumping punch on Nathan Frazer. Romeo Moreno executed a springboard drop kick. Romeo Moreno performed a head scissors, and Noam Dar used a kick to send Axiom to the floor. Romeo Moreno landed a springboard cross body onto Axiom and Nathan Frazer on the floor. Noam Dar tagged in and hit a moonsault off the ring post, followed by a belly to back suplex to Axiom for a near fall.

Axiom landed on his feet and hit a drop kick for a near fall. Nathan Frazer performed a springboard double sledge to Noam Dar's arm and then applied an arm bar. Axiom executed a half and half suplex, followed by Nathan Frazer's kick for a near fall. Nathan Frazer applied a cobra clutch on Noam Dar, then used an O'Connor Roll for a near fall. Nathan Frazer was sent to the apron and knocked Romeo Moreno off. Noam Dar hit a back elbow when Nathan Frazer went for a springboard move.

Romeo Moreno hit a German suplex on Axiom and executed a springboard boot off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Noam Dar attempted a cross arm breaker via a waist lock, but Nathan Frazer broke the hold with a frog splash. Romeo Moreno went over the top rope to the floor. Axiom performed a suicide dive to Romeo Moreno and then another to Noam Dar. Axiom hit a missile drop kick while Nathan Frazer hit a leg sweep for a near fall.

Noam Dar attempted a victory roll, but Axiom dropped down for a near fall. Noam Dar used an ankle lock on Axiom. Romeo Moreno applied an ankle lock on Nathan Frazer. Axiom's super kick accidentally hit Nathan Frazer when Romeo Moreno moved. Dar and Romeo Moreno executed a double power slam for a near fall. Romeo Moreno leaped into a double super kick from Axiom and Nathan Frazer. Axiom performed Spanish Fly and then tagged in for Golden Ratio on Romeo Moreno. Nathan Frazer hit a Phoenix Splash. Axiom got the three count, winning the match for his team.

After the match, Axiom and Frazer offered their hands to Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar. Nathan Frazer stated,

Dar might have found a tag team partner
\n

to which Noam Dar reportedly "agrees."

Backstage Segments

Wren told Kendal she could not go out to the ring that night.

Wren stated to Kendal, who replied that

Lola then appeared to talk to Kendal.

Lola wishes Kendal luck and she says she didn't mean to hit Kendal last week

Lola said, to which Kendal responded

Mr. NXT Pageant Commences

\n

The first part of the Mr. NXT Pageant was held, with Aaron Rourke, Kit Wilson, and Matt Mathews serving as judges. The initial category of the pageant was attire, requiring contestants to showcase three pieces.

During the judging, Matt Mathews commented that he

appreciates Tristan from the neck down, but he liked Shiloh
\n

Kit Wilson, however, stated that

\n
Shiloh is tacky
\n

and told Tristan that

\n
he didn't like him, he loved him
\n

Aaron Rourke said that while

\n
he loves Shiloh's choices but he says he has to go with Tristan
\n

Naraku Secures Number One Contender Spot

\n

Match Number Two was a Number One Contender Match between Mason Rook and Naraku. Mason Rook backed Naraku into the corner at the start of the match. Naraku pie faced and kicked Mason Rook, who then took Naraku down with a shoulder tackle. Mason Rook performed a splash into the corner followed by a back senton for a near fall. Naraku sent Mason Rook into the ring steps.

Naraku applied a Fujiwara arm bar on Mason Rook. Mason Rook performed a spine buster for a near fall. Mason Rook applied a bear hug and a slam, but Naraku moved from a back senton attempt. Naraku hit a neck breaker for a near fall, followed by a DDT and another back senton for a near fall. Mason Rook delivered a rolling elbow. Mason Rook performed a power slam from the turnbuckles, initially setting up for a backpack stunner, for a near fall. Mason Rook hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.

Naraku executed a sit out Death Valley Driver for a near fall and then hit a fisherman's suplex for a near fall. Naraku used a jaw breaker to escape a sleeper hold. Kam Hendrix appeared on the apron during the match, but Mason Rook knocked Kam Hendrix off the apron. Naraku then delivered an STO for the three count, winning the match and securing the Number One Contender spot.

Great American Bash Title Shot Outlook

In the LOUNGE, Tavion and Myles were present. Tavion stated

he wants a rematch
\n

Myles responded that

it was just a one time thing because he has to defend the title at Great American Bash
\n

Tavion then suggested

maybe he should face Myles for the title
\n

to which Myles replied that he

\n
likes the sound of that
\n

Jackson Drake then appeared, remarking that

it is nice that Myles is giving out title matches to friends like a charity case
\n

Tavion told Jackson Drake that

if he wants his, then they can meet next week and the winner faces Myles at the Bash
\n

Later, Kendal walked into the WAREHOUSE, where Wren wished her luck.
