Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther WWE Title Rematch, Queen of the Ring Semifinals Set for 6/19 SmackDown

WWE has added a Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther WWE Championship rematch, Queen of the Ring semifinals, and a United States Title contender's bout to the June 19 SmackDown card.

The June 12 SmackDown built directly into that card. Gunther revealed his stipulation for the title rematch against Rhodes, calling for Sami Zayn to serve as the special guest referee in the championship match next week.

That same episode also featured a brawl between Ricky Saints and Carmelo Hayes. Both men are scheduled to meet again on June 19 in a match that will determine the number one contender to the United States Championship.

The current lineup for the June 19 SmackDown includes:

  • Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther for the WWE Championship, with Gunther requesting Sami Zayn as the referee
  • Ricky Saints vs. Carmelo Hayes for United States Championship number one contendership
  • Queen of the Ring semifinal matches

With Rhodes and Gunther set for a rematch under a stipulation that pulls Zayn into the title picture, and the U.S. Title ladder tightening through Saints and Hayes, the June 19 show is shaping up as a loaded stop before the Queen of the Ring tournament moves deeper into its semifinal stage.
