Jasmine and Tiana wore matching blue dresses adorned with red hibiscus flowers, while Simone chose a black midi dress for the event. This appearance marked another notable red carpet outing for Johnson's younger daughters, who had previously attended the Moana 2 premiere in Hawaii in 2024.
Johnson reprises his role as the demigod Maui in the live-action remake, a character he previously voiced in the original 2016 animated film and its sequel. The cast of the live-action Moana includes newcomer Catherine Laga'aia as Moana, alongside John Tui, Frankie Adams, Rena Owen, and Jemaine Clement. Several cast members, director Thomas Kail, producer and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, and original Moana voice actress Auli'i Cravalho, who is also an executive producer were in attendance.
Johnson has spoken previously about his daughters' strong admiration for Maui, noting they even made cameo voice appearances in Moana 2. He also confirmed last week that a third animated Moana film is in development. The live-action Moana is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 10.
