John Cena, the 49-year-old actor and retired professional wrestler, recently announced he has undergone a second cosmetic procedure for hair restoration. Cena revealed the news on social media, proudly displaying a freshly shaved head in a photo with hair restoration surgeon Dr. Ken Anderson.
The announcement follows recent public concern over a video of Cena walking, which reportedly showed him having difficulty following numerous WWE-related injuries. Cena described his latest procedure as "Round 2" against his balding hairline, stating he "went all in" this time by shaving his head to achieve the "best possible results."
Previous Procedure and Fan Reactions
Cena’s journey with hair transplants dates back to 2024, when he underwent his first procedure. The 17-time world champion openly discussed his decision, telling Entertainment Tonight last year that he opted for the surgery after noticing jokes from WWE fans about his bald spot. He credited the initial procedure with profoundly impacting his life and career.
I see your signs. The ones that say 'Bald John Cena.' I get it. I don't want to use the term 'bullying' because they're honest.
Following his first surgery, Cena addressed the fan mockery during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.
You chant and you make me feel small and you embarrass me. Thank you for being so aware of my needs and emotions, because you guys ripped me to shreds for a genetic problem that I can't control.
In a separate interview regarding the procedure, Cena also expressed his satisfaction and increased confidence:
I'm not ashamed of it. I did it. I'm happy with it. It has given me confidence. It's maybe giving me more work, so I'm happy about it.
Cena also used his platform to offer support to others struggling with hair loss, encouraging them to explore their options.
