Ray was among several WWE roster members who departed earlier this year. She has said her time with the company ended when her contract expired, not through a release.
Looking back on nearly seven to eight years with WWE, Ray acknowledged the end of her run was not ideal. She also pointed to positives from her final years with the company.
The way it went at the end obviously wasn't great. But in the past few years, I got to have fun with my friends and I got paid well for it. So I even try to look on the bright side of that, that I can't really be disappointed with that. I wish I was given a chance to really show what I could have done on main roster. But I was with WWE for seven years, almost eight. If I got a chance to do it again, I know there would definitely be more relationships I would make. I would maybe do things differently, but looking back now, I had fun. I think now's the time to go kind of reinvent myself and show them what we could have done on main roster.
Ray has also discussed pitching a ring name to WWE that the company rejected. She has addressed that proposal in a separate interview.
