Tony D'Angleo last retained the NXT Championship against Kam Hendrix on the June 2 episode of NXT. Naraku became the Number One Contender for the NXT Championship by defeating Mason Rook on the June 9 episode of NXT. Tony D'Angelo signed the contract for his match against Naraku on the June 16 episode of NXT, where Naraku blinded Tony D'Angelo with a fireball integrated into the contract. Tony D'Angelo proved he was able to compete later on the same night he was blindsided by Naraku.

Lola Vice will defend the NXT Women's Championship against Kenday Grey in the main event. Kelani Jordan also sought a NXT Women's Championship match, but Kenday Grey defeated her on June 9 to become the Number One Contender for Vice's title. Lola Vice and Kenday Grey defeated Zaria and Kelani Jordan on June 16. During the match, Kenday Grey inadvertently hit Lola Vice with her NXT Women's Championship belt while aiming for Jordan. Lola Vice and Kenday Grey made their match official by signing the contract this past Tuesday.

Tatum Paxley will challenge Zaria for the Women's North American Championship, looking to become the first ever two-time Women's North American Champion. Zaria dethroned Tatum Paxley as Women's North American Champion on the June 9 episode of NXT. Tatum Paxley cost Zaria and Jordan their match against Lola Vice and Kenday Grey on June 16.

Myles Borne will defend the North American Championship against Tavion Heights. This is Borne's first North American Championship defense on NXT programming since the April 28 episode of NXT. Tavion Heights defeated Jackson Drake of Vanity Project in a Number One Contenders Match on the June 16 episode of NXT. Vanity Project members Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes tried to interfere in the match between Heights and Drake. Myka Lockwood, a member of Vanity Project, distracted the referee during the Number One Contenders Match. Myles Borne ran out to the ring and fended off interference from Baylor and Smokes.

Wren Sinclair will defend the Women's Speed Championship against Arianna Grace. This is the first defense of the Women's Speed Championship on NXT programming since March 17. Wren Sinclair dethroned Fallon Henley of Fatal Influence on the March 17 episode of NXT. Arianna Grace defeated Layla Diggs in a first-round match on June 16 to earn her shot at the title, and defeated Izzi Dame of The Culling in the finals this past Tuesday to earn her shot.

Dion Lennox of DarkState will face Saquon Shugars. Moments after Lennox and Shugars unsuccessfully challenged for the NXT Tag Team Championship on the May 19 episode of NXT, Lennox, Cutler James, and Osiris Griffin attacked Shugars. The attack officially kicked Shugars out of DarkState. The NXT Tag Team Champions at the time of the May 19 episode were Baylor and Smokes of Vanity Project.

Shiloh Hill and Tristan Angels will face each other. Tristan Angels was declared the winner of the attire portion of the Mr. NXT Pageant on the June 9 episode of NXT. The outcome of the Mr. NXT Pageant was not fully stated in the source.
