WWE's Paul Heyman weighed in after one of the wildest nights of the NBA Finals, jokingly crediting the league's creative team and writers for the drama that unfolded at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
Game 4 ended with the New York Knicks rallying from a 29 point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106. It marked the second time in the series that New York by a single point, following a 105-104 Knicks victory in Game 2.
I think it's time we all recognize the NBA has a great creative team and writers. Wow. What a story! Texas heels rout hometown heroes in the 1st half at the World's Most Famous Arena (@TheGarden ), only for the babyfaces to perform the greatest comeback EVER! My compliments!
Heyman is a lifelong Knicks supporter who has been vocal about his fandom on social media and in recent interviews with ESPN.
The source also tied WWE star Danhausen to New York's playoff run, noting he famously uncursed the Knicks during the first round after early struggles. The Knicks then went on a 13 game winning streak, sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers before reaching the Finals.
New York now leads the series 3-1 and sits one win away from the Larry O'Brien Trophy. The Spurs will get a chance to respond on home court this Saturday.
