Last year, R-Truth announced his departure from WWE on social media following his match with John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event. His absence lasted just over a week before fans online and in arenas launched hashtags and chants of 'We Want Truth,' leading to the company re-signing him.
\n\n\n“I always some it up with something my son said to me back when it happened. He saw all the numbers and was like ‘dad it was worth it’, and just those words, man.
\nI’ve missed so many graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, deaths in my family, I’ve missed so much, but I’ve dedicated so much. That outpour, the abundance of love I was shown, will never, ever go unnoticed by me.
\nWhen you say the ‘People’s Champ’, that gave me that title right then and there, and I love the people for that.”

Speaking with Witty Whittier, R-Truth stated that hearing his son acknowledge the value of his dedication, despite the missed personal milestones, was profoundly impactful. He emphasized that the outpouring of love from the fans will never go unnoticed.
\nR-Truth currently reigns as one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions with Damian Priest on SmackDown.
