Injury Update On WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley

WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley was evaluated for injury on SmackDown before Night of Champions promotional material revealed Tiffany Stratton had replaced her, and she is reportedly dealing with an injury.

No details have emerged on what Ripley is ailing from or how long she may be sidelined. Those close to the situation say there has been a "significant shuffling" of direction for Ripley and other SmackDown women if she is forced to miss significant time with an injury. There is no word yet on the status of the WWE Women's Championship or whether Ripley would be forced to vacate the title.

Ripley's most recent televised match came at the Clash In Italy PLE, where she defeated Jade Cargill to retain the Women's Title. She continued wrestling on WWE's European tour afterward, with her last match taking place on June 3. Ripley appeared on SmackDown a few days after that outing with no hint of injury and interacted with former rival Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton, with both declaring their intention to challenge her for the Women's Championship.

Flair is currently pursuing a title shot through the Queen of the Ring tournament and is scheduled to face Liv Morgan in semi-final action on SmackDown this Friday.
