Chicago's Impact on SummerSlam Plans
The event takes place in Chicago, where hometown hero CM Punk is rumored to finally return to WWE after being gone for over two months. The decision to feature Zayn's title defense on tonight's Raw suggests a larger plan is in motion, with Punk vs. Rhodes being considered a more significant draw for a stadium show than Punk vs. Zayn. Alternatively, Punk's return could be to interfere in the Zayn-Rhodes match, setting up a non-title encounter with Rhodes at SummerSlam.
Championship Monday on Raw
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has dubbed tonight's show "Championship Monday," with three titles on the line.
