The Rock To Star As Motorcycle Stuntman With Dementia In ‘Free Byrd’

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to star in a new action/drama film titled ‘Free Byrd’, playing a Las Vegas motorcycle stuntman dealing with dementia.

The film is said to be produced by Artists Equity, a production company founded by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Greg Kwedar, who directed the 2024 film ‘Sing Sing’ is attached to direct ‘Free Byrd’.

The plot synopsis suggests Johnson's character, a stuntman is concealing a dementia diagnosis from those close to him, including his brother who works as his mechanic. The story appears to center on his decision to attempt one final, risky jump.

‘Free Byrd’ reportedly examines "the mind’s vast mysteries and the beauty and power of asking for help before it’s too late." Johnson's other upcoming film projects reportedly include the live-action adaptation of ‘Moana’, ‘Jumanji: Open World’, and ‘Lizard Music’.
