The primary reason for this shift, according to sources close within WWE, is a scheduling conflict involving the company's broadcast partners. The move from the original early September date to October was necessitated by a “scheduling matter with broadcast partners.”

In addition to broadcast considerations, city officials cited factors related to New Orleans itself that would have significantly increased prices for attendees. The initial date of September 6, 2026, coincides with Labor Day Weekend, a period typically associated with elevated costs for city services and accommodations.

Date Change Considerations

The adjustment to the Money in the Bank schedule was not a recent development. Reports indicate that the date change had been under consideration for a considerable period, with the move reportedly in the works for “well over a month.” This suggests that the impending change was known to several individuals within the company well in advance of the official announcement.

Venue and Ticketing Details

The venue for the Premium Live Event remains unchanged. Money in the Bank 2026 will still be held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

Information regarding ticket sales has also been released. General public tickets for Money in the Bank will be available for purchase starting Friday, July 10, at 10 AM Eastern Time. Pre-sale access for fans seeking to secure their seats earlier will begin on Thursday, July 9.
