WWE star Sheamus recently suffered an awful-looking head wound from a gym-related incident. On Instagram today, the 48-year-old posted a photo depicting blood dripping down his face and arm. Another photo then showed a close-up look at a wide gash on Sheamus’ head that caused the bleeding. He did not elaborate on what happened but captioned the post with:

gym fail

along with an emoji of someone lifting weights above their head.

This injury surfaces as Sheamus has begun teasing an in-ring return following shoulder surgery he underwent near the end of 2025.

Last week, Sheamus shared that he was at the WWE Performance Center doing in-ring work with Myles Borne, Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger. He also posted yesterday that he was training with kickboxer Bernard Robinson, remarking:

Anyone sleeping on Sheamus’ return to the squared circle hasn’t mixed-it-up with BERNARD ‘SWIFTKICK’ ROBINSON aka @swiftkick_gym aka coach. Champions train Champions.

Sheamus’s most recent match was on Raw in November 2025, where he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio. They defeated Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh. His shoulder injury forced him to withdraw from WWE’s Last Time is Now tournament, which decided John Cena’s final opponent.

Sheamus hosts the YouTube series Celtic Warrior Workouts, and amid his injury, he has not released a new episode in a few months.
