A unique 12-man steel cage match with specific stipulations has been announced for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, following developments on Wednesday's Dynamite.

One team in the match will be led by MJF, while the opposing team will be led by Mark Briscoe. If Briscoe’s team wins, he will earn a future shot at MJF's AEW World Championship.

During their Dynamite exchange, MJF again denied Briscoe an opportunity, leading to Briscoe being attacked by Jay Lethal, Blake Christian, and Lee Johnson, with MJF showing amusement. Members of The Conglomeration ran out to aid Briscoe, who then stated he had spoken to Tony Khan and laid out the cage match challenge. Briscoe’s fellow Conglomeration members appear to be on his team. MJF recruited Don Callis for backup, and Kevin Knight agreed to join MJF's team only if he receives a World title shot afterward, a condition MJF accepted. Andrade El Idolo was reportedly upset by these developments, continuing to question Don Callis about his own World title shot.
