Jericho Returns to Confront Ciampa
AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster opened with Tommaso Ciampa attempting to bully Tony Schiavone into admitting Ciampa's superiority over Chris Jericho. Schiavone refused to comply. Chris Jericho's music then hit, signaling his return to Dynamite.
Jericho immediately engaged Ciampa, calling him
This led the crowd to chant "Tommy's Mommy." The two brawled, and security struggled to separate them.
Moxley Retains Continental Title, Challenges for Street Fight
Jon Moxley successfully defended the AEW Continental Championship against Shane Taylor. The match, fought under Continental Rules, prohibited outside interference from either the Death Riders or Shane Taylor Promotions. Wrestling in front of his Cincinnati-area hometown crowd, Moxley endured an early onslaught from Taylor, who put him through the timekeeper's table. Moxley fought back with strikes, eye gouges, and bites, ultimately securing the submission victory with a Bulldog Choke.
After the match, Shane Taylor Promotions launched a retaliatory attack. Taylor assaulted Moxley, and Carlie Bravo brought him a belt to whip the champion. Daniel Garcia attempted to save Moxley but was overwhelmed by The Infantry. During the melee, Trish Adora attacked Marina Shafir's knee with a kendo stick. Shane Taylor Promotions stood tall over the Death Riders. Following the attack, Jon Moxley challenged Shane Taylor Promotions to a five-on-five street fight on Collision: Summer Blockbuster this Saturday.
Darby Allin Returns, Confronts Kevin Knight
Darby Allin made his return to AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster. Don Callis introduced TNT Champion Kevin Knight as the newest member of the Don Callis Family. Knight proceeded to run down Cincinnati, Darby Allin, and Mike Bailey.
Darby Allin then snuck into the ring and blasted Knight with his skateboard. Allin referenced Knight's decision to join the Callis Family instead of staying loyal to his partner Bailey. The Don Callis Family ran out before Darby Allin could hit a Coffin Drop on Kevin Knight.
Mark Briscoe Defeats PAC
Mark Briscoe faced PAC in a hard-hitting contest. PAC hit a brainbuster through a chair on the floor. Briscoe fought back with his Redneck Kung Fu and hit a running Blockbuster from the apron.
The finish saw PAC attempt a Shooting Star Press, but Briscoe got his knees up. Briscoe then hit the Jay Driller for the victory. This victory, using the Jay Driller was a tribute to his late brother Jay Briscoe.
Mark Briscoe Announces Forbidden Door Steel Cage Match
After his match, Mark Briscoe called out AEW World Champion MJF. MJF appeared in the crowd and refused to grant Briscoe a title match. Following this, The Lethal Twist attacked Mark Briscoe.
Roderick Strong, Kyle O'Reilly, Tomohiro Ishii, and Orange Cassidy made the save for Briscoe. Mark Briscoe then revealed details for a major Forbidden Door match, stating:
Tony Khan had approved a six-on-six steel cage match at Forbidden Door. Team Briscoe vs. Team MJF! If Briscoe's team wins, he gets an AEW World Title shot!
Andrade El Ídolo Defeats Orange Cassidy
Orange Cassidy faced Andrade El Ídolo in their first-ever singles match on AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster. The match featured Andrade removing his pants, which prompted Cassidy to reveal he was wearing backup jeans underneath. Lio Rush appeared at ringside, taking selfies with both competitors during the match.
Andrade El Ídolo ultimately defeated Orange Cassidy. He countered the Orange Punch with a discus back elbow and then hit The DM for the win. After the match, Andrade grabbed the microphone to address the crowd. Before he could finish his question, the crowd chanted:

Maya World Advances in Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament
The Owen Hart Foundation Women's Tournament Quarterfinal was originally scheduled as Skye Blue vs. Sareee. However, Sareee was not medically cleared, leading to Skye Blue facing Maya World instead. Before the match, Renee Paquette noted that
World was competing after losing her younger brother this past week
Maya World defeated Skye Blue with a jackknife pin after Blue attempted a Code Blue. With this victory, Maya World advances to face ROH Women's World Champion Athena in the semifinals.
Swerve Strickland Advances to Owen Cup Finals in Main Event
The main event of AEW Dynamite: Summer Blockbuster was the Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament Semifinal between Swerve Strickland and Brody King. Brody King was motivated to avenge his House of Black stablemate Bandido, whom Swerve had previously attacked and knocked out of the tournament.
During the match, Prince Nana interfered at key moments. Swerve Strickland exposed a turnbuckle and sent Brody King into it, busting King open. While the referee was out of position, Prince Nana hit Brody King with the ring bell. Following Nana's interference, Swerve Strickland defeated Brody King with the Vertebreaker, advancing to the Owen Cup Finals.
