Charlotte Flair sits at 14 women's world championship reigns, putting her within reach of the 16-time World Heavyweight Championship benchmark long associated with her father, Ric Flair, and recently tied by John Cena during his retirement run. That number remains one of the most prestigious accolades in the industry, and Flair is positioned to either tie or break the record held by both her father and Cena.

Flair addressed the milestone in an interview with Ring The Belle, weighing whether chasing the number is still a priority as the count climbs.

I think it was first a fan thing, but now that I'm so close, it's kind of like: what does that look like?
It's not something that I dwell on, in terms of storylines, or wanting to, it's just that, you know, I want to one day win the championship again, so that will make the number go up.

She appears less focused on surpassing her father's record today than she was in the past. Years ago, Flair spoke with more direct intent about reaching the mark.

Hiatus and renewed focus after 2022

Coming off an eight-month hiatus from wrestling after getting married in 2022, Flair said the time away sharpened her view of how close she is to breaking her father's record. She did not know when or how it would happen, but at that point she knew it was something she definitely wanted to achieve.

Current WWE status

Only time will tell whether Flair reaches the milestone from her current position. On screen, she is mainly associated with Alexa Bliss as a tag team partner while fighting her way to the Queen of the Ring finals.
