Cena's hair transplant journey began in 2024. He shared his experience with People magazine last August, explaining the impact of the fan signs. "They pushed me into going to see what my options were," Cena stated. He also detailed his current regimen, which includes red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, and shampoo and conditioner, in addition to the hair transplant he received last November.

The wrestler further elaborated on the life-altering nature of the procedure, noting that it has provided him with new opportunities, particularly in his acting career. "It completely changed the course of my life," Cena said. While a shaved head is not a requirement for the transplant, Cena explained his decision to go "all in" on the procedure for the best possible results.
This personal endeavor follows Cena's recent in-ring retirement, which concluded with a match against Gunther at "Saturday Night’s Main Event" in December. In that bout, Cena was submitted for only the fourth time in his career, marking the end of his extensive farewell tour which spanned 36 appearances and 15 matches.
Cena is now focusing on his burgeoning acting career, with upcoming roles in "Matchbox: The Movie," where he will play Sean. The film is scheduled for release on October 9, 2026. He has previously starred in projects such as "The Suicide Squad" and "Ricky Stanicky."
