WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca will make her first title defense against Lyra Valkyria on the upcoming edition of WWE Raw, broadcasting live from Paris, France. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed the championship clash, alongside details of other major matches for the June 8 event.
After her crowning moment as WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion, Sol Ruca's first official order of business will see her defend the title against Lyra Valkyria on Monday's edition of WWE Raw, emanating live from Paris, France. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced the championship contest in a video posted to X, outlining a loaded card for the June 8 broadcast.
The June 8 episode of WWE Raw will be broadcast live from Paris, France. Pearce detailed the upcoming card in his announcement, confirming several high profile matchups for the event, which airs live around the world on Netflix.
"Monday Night Raw comes to you live tomorrow night from one of the iconic cities of the world, Paris, France," Pearce said. "We will have first round matches in both the King and Queen of the ring tournaments. On the men's side, Seth Freakin Rollins takes on Je'Von Evans, Talla Tonga and Ricky Saints. On the women's side, Seth's better half, lesser half, other half, I'll let you decide, Becky Lynch takes on Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, and quite possibly one of my favorite human beings on planet earth, Chelsea Green. Also, both Intercontinental Titles will be on the line tomorrow night as Sol Ruca defends her championship against Lyra Valkyria. Penta goes one-on-one with the legend, the Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. All of that and so much more."
Pearce also shared a visual preview of the event through his social media, stating:
"Your OFFICIAL #WWERaw Mini-Preview for TOMORROW NIGHT in Paris, France! 🇫🇷 📺: 2e/11p and LIVE around the world on @Netflix! C'est officiel. pic.twitter.com/IxZadFOubT"

Championship History and Rivalry Context
The impending clash between Sol Ruca and Lyra Valkyria comes with significant backstory. Teasings of Valkyria vs. Ruca emerged last week when Lyra Valkyria approached Sol Ruca to congratulate her on ending Becky Lynch's Women's Intercontinental Championship "reign of terror" at WWE Clash In Italy. Sol Ruca captured the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship by dethroning Lynch at WWE Clash In Italy 2026.
Lyra Valkyria holds the distinction of being the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion. She lost the title to Becky Lynch at the 2025 Money in the Bank premium live event, then subsequently failed in her attempts to regain the title. Valkyria's loss to Lynch at SummerSlam 2025 specifically prevented her from challenging for the title again for as long as "The Man" Becky Lynch remained champion.
With Sol Ruca's victory over Lynch at Clash In Italy 2026, Lyra Valkyria is now able to pursue the championship once more. The June 8 edition of Raw will mark the first ever singles collision between Sol Ruca and Lyra Valkyria. For Sol Ruca, this match also marks the first defense in her respective title run, putting her championship to the test against a former holder of the title.
Additional Matches Confirmed for Raw in Paris
Beyond the Women's Intercontinental Championship defense, Adam Pearce confirmed a loaded card for the Paris broadcast. The event will feature first round matches for both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments.
On the men's side of the King of the Ring tournament, first round matches will involve Seth Freakin Rollins, Je'Von Evans, Talla Tonga, and Ricky Saints, as detailed by Pearce. For the Queen of the Ring tournament, Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, and Chelsea Green are scheduled to compete in first round encounters.
Additionally, the men's Intercontinental Championship will also be defended on the same night. As announced by Pearce, Penta is set to compete one-on-one with the legend and WWE Hall of Famer, Rey Mysterio, for that title.
