The TNA World Tag Team Titles will be defended by reigning champions The System, with Cedric Alexander and Eddie Edwards putting their belts on the line against The Righteous and The Hardys.
The events leading to these announcements unfolded on the June 11th episode of TNA Wrestling Thursday Night iMPACT. A tag team bout saw The System (Cedric Alexander & Eddie Edwards) take on Fabian Aichner and Leon Slater. X Division Champion Alexander pinned Slater to win the match for his team.
Post-match, Alexander, Edwards, and the remainder of The System (Brian Myers, Bear Bronson & Alisha Edwards) jumped Aichner and Slater. Moose made his return to fight The System off, running his former faction away. Moose had been off TV after being taken out by The System.
Moose later shared that TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella made it official: Moose will face Eddie Edwards at Slammiversary on June 28th.
Later in the broadcast, Marella appeared during a segment with The Righteous. Marella agreed that The Righteous deserved a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Titles after defeating The Hardys in the Wicked Garden match. However, The Hardys still had a rematch lined up for the belts.
Marella then made it official that at Slammiversary, The System would defend the TNA World Tag Team Titles in a three-way Ladder match against The Righteous and The Hardys. It was soon revealed that the Broken Hardys would be competing in the match.
