Nash explained his habit of buying numerous CDs when new releases dropped, particularly as he was traveling frequently. "You know, I was always, to this day, when music came out, I would go to either Best Buys or Circuit City, and I would just, because I was making coin, like when the new CDs dropped, I’d buy 12 or 14 CDs. I’d buy what whatever was out because I was going on the road."
He recalled the intense recommendations he received for Korn. "And I remember everybody was telling me about Korn. And I was driving, I was by myself, and I was in Lincoln Continental. And, you know, it was one of those deals where I was so into, like at that time of my life, I was so into like Tupac and that whole Death Row sound, that Korn was so far from my [tastes,] I listened to like 30 seconds of it, ejected it, put the window down and slung it out the window, like ‘No.’"
When questioned by co-host Sean Oliver about whether he truly threw the CD out the window, Nash confirmed that he did. However, he acknowledged that Korn's music eventually resonated with him years later. "And then two years later like, I actually on something, heard like two or three cuts, and I said, ‘Oh, I guess I should have gave it a chance."'
Nash also shared that he remains passionate about music with diverse tastes, including R&B, soul, and rap, and has been listening to SiriusXM’s Lithium channel. He recently heard a deep cut from what he believes was the guitarist from Soundgarden, Kim Thayil, and expressed admiration for Chris Cornell's voice, stating, "If I could have anyone’s voice, I would have Cornell’s voice."
In separate news, Korn has recently been in the spotlight due to controversy surrounding their alleged use of AI on merchandise and pop artist Olivia Rodrigo's mother reportedly prioritizing attending a Korn performance over her daughter's Lollapalooza set. Korn drummer Ray Luzier has also spoken out against over-edited drums in a recent interview, advising aspiring drummers to consider law or medical school due to the challenging nature of the industry today.
The band is also reportedly working on new material, with guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer indicating that approximately 40 songs have been composed for their upcoming fifteenth studio album, though not all will be selected for release.
