Triple H made his remarks during an appearance on ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith's YouTube show, where he discussed the extraordinary phenomenon surrounding the Knicks' triumph.

"These curse things, it's funny, a lot of people think they're silly. But when they prove themselves out right in front of you, it's hard to think they're so silly. Look, I like to think we know a thing or two about writing great comeback stories and the underdog story and all those things. What an incredible run, what an incredible story of a team that just would not stay down. That just went on the most incredible run and against all odds when they were outgunned, outmanned, out-everything, just put it to them. You can say the curse, you can say whatever you want to say. You can say it's one of the strongest fanbases on the planet as you saw, but the Knicks did it, man, and it was an incredible run."

Danhausen became an honorary figure during the Knicks' historic playoff journey due to his various appearances on ESPN, where he both cursed and later uncursed the team. Initially, Danhausen cursed the Knicks, citing rudeness from Stephen A. Smith, a known Knicks fan.

Following the curse, New York found themselves trailing 2-1 against the Atlanta Hawks in their first-round playoff series. This prompted a Knicks fan to commission a Cameo video of Danhausen officially 'uncursing' the team. Danhausen fulfilled the request, and from that moment, the Knicks' fortunes dramatically shifted.

After the 'uncursing,' the New York Knicks achieved an almost unbeatable record, winning 15 of their subsequent 16 games. Their only loss during this dominant run occurred in Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. However, the team quickly rebounded, winning the next two games to clinch the series and secure the championship, ending one of the NBA's longest championship droughts.

While players like Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart are largely credited for the championship, Danhausen's unique involvement has made him an inseparable part of the team's memorable run.
