WWE Reportedly Considering Bloodline Reunion Including Sami Zayn

Reports suggest WWE is looking into reuniting a version of The Bloodline that could include Sami Zayn. The faction's original run is described as one of wrestling's greatest storylines.

The original Bloodline saga, which seemingly concluded shortly after WrestleMania 40 in 2024 is being described as potentially the greatest storyline in wrestling history, rivaling even the nWo's impact in the late 1990s due to its dramatic moments that deeply engaged fans.

Following Roman Reigns' World Heavyweight title win at WrestleMania 42 in April, he began reforming alliances with his family members. He reconciled with The Usos and subsequently added Jacob Fatu to the group as his new enforcer after a notable feud.

However, the expansion of this new iteration of The Bloodline may not be complete. On a recent episode of SmackDown, Fatu conveyed a message from Reigns for Sikoa to return home. While Sikoa, the former United States champion and leader of MFT, initially declined, recent events on SmackDown have pushed him closer to rejoining the faction.

Sikoa’s MFT associates, Tama Tonga and Tala Tonga, informed him that they had received approval from “the elders” and subsequently severed ties with their faction leader. This development, coupled with the narrative on SmackDown, left Sikoa seemingly alone on the main roster, with no current allies. While he could enter a period without faction support, the indications point towards a return to his cousin and brothers.

The question arises whether The Bloodline would feature two enforcers if Sikoa were to return. The storyline has largely been presented as a vehicle to elevate Fatu's star power, similar to how Jey Uso's departure from the group was framed as a move to establish him as a solo star. It is suggested that Fatu will eventually depart the group, leading to a return to the original lineup of Reigns, The Usos, and Sikoa.

The faction experienced its greatest heights when it included an honorary uce. The Bloodline's dominance spanned over a year and a half, but it was in the summer of 2022, when Zayn strived to prove his worthiness to join the all-Samoan team, that the storyline reached new levels of popularity. His efforts to earn respect while injecting levity into the group propelled The Bloodline story to become the most talked-about aspect of professional wrestling in over two decades.

Zayn's career experienced a significant boost after he chose friendship over faction loyalty at Survivor Series 2022, leading to considerable professional success. However, his career progression has reportedly plateaued over the past year and a half. While he is slated to compete for the WWE Championship at Night of Champions on Saturday, his victory is not anticipated.

Assuming WWE does not opt for a surprising outcome at Night of Champions, Zayn's career may require a new direction. A potential return to The Bloodline is being considered, as Reigns has historically shown a soft spot for Zayn due to his willingness to make sacrifices despite not being a family member. While considered a long shot, there are indications that WWE might be moving towards a new edition of the faction's most successful iteration.
